National Book Lovers Day!

In honor of National book lovers day I wanted to launch my first book list. But first as a book lover I am gonna talk about books for a bit. Because well I LOVE books!!
I am a fan of all kinds of books. From Young Adult, to Romance, to Christian Fiction, Nonfiction (MJ’s Bio was the first, I was 9) Paranormal, and more. If the book is good, I’m gonna read it. If it is a series I am even more likely to read it. My favorite series are the House of Night Series by PC and Kristin Cast and The Chronicles of Narnia by CS Lewis.

I like books that challenge me, though I must admit that The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini was really good but, it wrecked my entire life and I am not in a rush to read its sequel and Beloved by Toni Morrison was amazing and terrifying and heartbreaking all at one time. There are the books that wreck your life like ones mentioned before with the sometimes harsh realities of this life and then there are others that wreck your life in an entirely different way. When I read Kyle Idleman’s Not a Fan, I had to look in the mirror and ask myself if I was just a fan or am I truly a follower of Christ. Okonkwo in Chinua Achebe’s Things Fall Apart has stuck with me for years after I first read his story and Elizabeth Bennet and William Darcy’s story in Pride and Prejudice is literally my favorite love story outside of the story of the cross.

I am also known for reading multiple books at a time, and recently I have discovered that I am not entirely opposed to audiobooks either because that means I can read while running (best thing ever!). Currently I am reading Eragon by Christopher Paolini, A Wrinkle in Time by Madeline L’Engle, Shoe Dog by Phil Knight AND I am rereading To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee
So today the goal is to finish Eragon today…and the rest by the end of the month. Let’s see how it goes.
