In honor of my 28th birthday today I decided to post a bit differently than normal. I’ve learned a lot in my 28 years so I’ve decided to share a few things that learned.
1. It’s ok to let some people in.
Being antisocial and closed off does not relationships build.
2. Emotions can be your friend, don’t bottle them up.
Being apathetic isn’t always the best thing for you. It’s not a crime to show emotion.
3. Don’t force things, let them happen when they are meant to.
Overthinking and second guessing will not make anything happen any quicker. Just live.
4. Make smart financial decisions.
Be prepared to pay your debts before taking any on.
5. Don’t be afraid to dream big.
But be prepared to plan and work hard for that big dream to become reality.
6. Don’t let ANYONE make you feel like your dream isn’t attainable.
If God gave it to you, it’s yours, not theirs. Maybe they aren’t supposed to understand and that’s ok.
7. If God said it, believe it.
Enough said. Period.
8. “Keep moving forward.”
Walt Disney said it best.
9. It’s ok to fail, it is not ok to quit.
10. Travel, far and long and as often as possible.
I seriously want to see as much of the world as I can. The wanderlust is REAL! Lol
11. Always be open to learning new things.
You will never know everything.
12. Seek first the kingdom of God.
He really is as good as it gets.
13. Write like no one is reading.
Personally this one is tough. I’m learning though.
14. Buy the book, you won’t regret it.
Eventually you’re gonna read it.
15. The shoes too.
Ditto.
16. It’s ok to love Nike AND Adidas lol.
As a avid Nike girl this was a tough one for me.
17. Count your reps when they start to hurt.
For most if not all core exercises this is my philosophy. And some others too.
18. Hills and Valleys are a part of life.
Bow low in high places, look high in low places – Tauren Wells (paraphrase)
19. When you ask God to write your story, He will.
Let Him.
20. When you’re overwhelmed lean closer to God.
He will give you the strength, peace, will, and people you need to keep going.
21. Happy Planner is your friend.
Seriously.
22. It’s ok if your closest friends are family.
Be grateful for the good friends that are like family too.
23. You are your toughest critic.
Don’t be so hard on yourself.
24. Believe in yourself.
Confidence is attractive on anyone.
25. Speak up. Literally and figuratively.
Don’t let anyone take your kindness for weakness and for the love of all that is holy talk louder if necessary lol
26. Your past is a part of your journey. Embrace it.
Don’t ever be ashamed of any part of your story. It made you who you are.
27. Be you. Authentically.
No one can be a better you than you.
28. Enjoy the journey of becoming you.
I’ve changed so much throughout my 20s and I look forward to all that 28 holds.
