So it is officially the 2nd month of the year.
Honestly I wrote this blog on December 31st and had every intention of posting it in January. But January Januaried so differently than most Januaries, with the capitol being stormed by domestic terrorists all because they didn’t like the outcome of the presidential election and people calling them patriots…like really that’s what you want to call them? Not terrorists? But we will not get into that.
I waited to post this because it felt like, even more so this year than most, was that January was more a warm up for the new year and February is the actual beginning. So even though have been working on setting goals for 2021 all month I chose Februrary 1st as my starting date for my goals…
That being said here are some things I learned in 2020:
- Write my plans in pencil
- this I already knew but 2020 reinforced it lol
- Budgeting isn’t the enemy
- it can be fun, especially when it works and lets me buy more books…well kinda fun.
- Vulnerability sucks…but it is worth it
- really. it is
- Crocheting is fun and relaxing
- I am capable of reading one book at a time
- and it won’t take months to do it either
- Playing small really doesn’t serve the world
- being my true authentic self brings God more glory than anything else I try to be
- Faith walking sometimes means taking every step with fear nipping at my heels
- it can be tough but God is making me tougher
- Timelines are tentative
- see #1
- My choices impact more than just me
- Relationships are nothing like the books or the movies
- that is a GOOD thing!
- Sometimes it is best to say what is on your heart to God and your notebook and no one else, other times speak your piece and don’t apologize for your feelings
- I have feelings! – lots of them
- UGH!…being apathetic was so much easier
- Taking time to take care of yourself is necessary
- Seriously. Do not put it off.
- God’s timing is your timing. Don’t allow anyone to rush you or make you feel like you are behind. Trust the process.
- Family.
- Don’t take the opportunity to know and spend time with your loved ones for granted. They may not be here long.
- Dream bigger
- and expect God to exceed those dreams because He totally will
- Shine, in every way
- Silent seasons are when we find out what we are made of
- Fear, irrational fear, is a good indicator that you should probably do it.
- unless God gives you a serious check in your spirit, that fear is probably just trying to keep you from stepping into something great
- Abba is still as good as it gets.
- God is the best. EVER. FOREVER. THERE IS NO ONE BETTER. Period.
